Band

The Most Blessed Sacrament Band is in its third year of existence and welcomes students going into grades 5-8. There is absolutely no experience necessary when joining band! Mr. Hittle, the assistant band director, gives lessons to beginner students on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons immediately following school. Mrs. Schiebe works with the advanced band students on Tuesday and Thursdays immediately following school until 3:45 p.m. Students may begin taking private band lessons with Mrs. Schiebe and Mr. Hittle during the summer months at Most Blessed Sacrament School in the music room. These lessons are not included in the semester band fee. The semester band fee of $225 is due at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, as the band is not funded by the school. We have multiple instruments such as, flutes, clarinets, and trumpets available for use. No renting required, only maintenance.

Band students are involved in concert band, honor bands around the area, solo contests, and the occasional pep rallies. Students involved with band also have opportunities to play at school masses, the Passion Play, and other school functions. The band occasionally performs for local retirement communities during the holiday seasons and is excited to share music around the Baton Rouge area! If your child in interested in joining the Most Blessed Sacrament Band, please contact Mrs. Anna Schiebe at aschiebe@mbsbr.org or refer to her Weebly page at http://aschiebe.weebly.com/mbs-band.html.
